Laboratory space for 350 biologists will be dedicated to research efforts into cellular regeneration within the body, aiming to stop, slow or reverse tissue damage.
BioQuarter director Hans Moller said: “Our vision for Edinburgh BioQuarter is to have a network of paths and cycle routes which will bring better connections between researchers, clinicians, healthcare staff, commercial companies, patients and visitors.
“There are plans for a hotel, cafes and a gym which will offer a welcoming space where people can meet.
As part of the work a new pedestrian link will be routed through the campus, connecting planned and established facilities such as the Centre for Regenerative Medicine, Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic and a sub-atomic research centre.
