Residential conversion planned for B-listed former Scottish Power headquarters
March 21 2017
A detailed planning application has been submitted by FM Homes to convert the B-listed former Scottish Power headquarters on Spean Street, Cathcart, into 80 apartments. The £40m project will entail sensitive conversion of the landmark together with refurbishment of a neighbouring 1960’s office building, which will offer an additional 45 flats with underground parking and a feature garden terrace.
At the heart of Cooper Cromar’s design will be a reinstated central lightwell and courtyard with new build elements planned separately for surrounding car parks.
FM Group director Jonathon Milne commented: “These plans have been well received locally and we are excited about the potential for this development which will provide highly desirable, city living, in line with Glasgow City Council policy.”
FM Group are currently working on the restoration of Ury Castle in Aberdeenshire for a Jack Nicklaus-backed golf course and a refurbishment of Dalnair Castle near Loch Lomond into luxury apartments.

I stay across the River Cart- right beside this building- I have heard nothing about a new proposed development of flats!

If we could
have a little more detail of the development, we can then pass a considered judgement.
