The scheme will be composed of a variety of facing brick, reconstituted stone, powder coated metal and galvanised steel balustrades.
In their design statement the architects said: “The proposals have been designed to present a composition of elements of varied storey heights, building planes, simple proportions and openings to the four public faces of the site. In response to the traditional form dominant in the area, the proposed façade assumes the proposition of the tenement forms on and immediately adjacent to Dumbarton Road.
"The building form then is staggered in plan and elevation massing to recognise the scale and significance of the Clydeside Expressway adjacent to the site.”
Site access will be from a basement car park for 45 vehicles, stretching to the full footprint of the build.
Apsis Homes are also developing new homes in Strathaven and Stonehouse
Landscaping will seek to bed the development within the mixed-scale surroundings

Such a low aspiration proposal for such a prominent site. What a pity.

Horrendous, and showing utter contempt for Glasgow from developers who are only interested in making money than leaving any kind of legacy. Horrendous looking materials just to crown it.

There's something very late-1990s about this, what with the oversailing roofs, jumble of materials and stick-on 'nautical' balconies. I thought we were all doing sober buff brick with punched openings and plain flat parapets these days. Has this one been knocking around for a while?
