Lidl growth spurt to add eight new stores

Designed by Cassidy + Ashton the uniform Lidl of the Future designs aims to homogenise all planning applications by repeating the same design which sports an all-glass frontage with sensor controlled blinds to manage solar gain.
Each £2m store will include 1,424sq/m of retail space, allowing wider aisles, longer tills and enhanced facilities to be offered to customers and increased employee space on a mezzanine floor.
Lidl UK’s board director of property and expansion, Ingo Fischer, said: “Along with its cutting edge design, our ‘Lidl of the Future’ concept will also go a step further to streamline processes and maximise efficiency. This forms a key part of our business model, which enables us to keep prices low and the quality of our products high.”
A further ten of Lidl’s 91 stores will receive investment for extensions, modernisation and refurbishment.

Yeah, both Lydl and Aldi have really simple but incredibly precisely detailed design for new stores.

#6 sounds like something written on a big red emergency button at a desk at the planning dept. of the city council.
