Maryhill residential school extension nears completion
Work to deliver a new extension to an existing residential school at Maryhill is nearing completion with the charity behind the plans seeking additional funding to complete the build and outdoor spaces ahead of a planned formal opening this summer.

East Park residential school is being supported by local developer Bigg Regeneration and will provide residential care and education services to children with additional support needs from its Maryhill base, which will offer a range of classrooms and residential accommodation to meet growing demand for its services.

Gary Watt, development manager for Bigg Regeneration, said: “The development of new classrooms and residential accommodation is being entirely funded by charitable donations. These are designed with love and care, to meet the needs of the children, and to create welcoming and stress-free spaces. However the team would still welcome further funding to allow them to enhance the new spaces even further – and every little helps.”

East Park School extension was designed and delivered by Threesixty Architecture (based on an original concept design by Alan Dunlop for the residential blocks).

Drove past this the other day- looks really strange in the flesh- like garden sheds stuck onto modest brick housing. Looks like it's been ......!

Gotta hope that timber greys quickly; whoever thought that yellow stain went well with that pinkish brick!? Disappointed....

The timber cladding is very 1980s nursing home isn't it?

Drove past the other day. East Park is such a fantastic organisation, Fleming and Threesixty have produced inspiring facilities for the children.

bus drove me past the other day. interesting shapes that jump out and I too hope it weathers down as the timber finish is very different to the school in bellahouston park.
