Inverness hospital restoration goes before Highland planners
Robertson Homes have published indicative renderings of their planned conversion of a B-listed former Inverness hospital to form 56 new homes, ahead of a presentation to Highland Council’s planning committee next week.

Overseen by Bell Ingram Design the £13m project entails the restoration of the fire damaged Gleann Mor House, Westercraigs.
Robertson intends to rebuild a significant chunk of the 19th century hospital as part of their 120 acre Whitecraigs housing estate on the outskirts of Inverness.

John Murphy, managing director of Robertson Homes, remarked: “We are really pleased to release these images, which clearly show our dedication to maintaining the integrity of this beautiful building, believed to be one of the biggest structures in the north of Scotland.

“The luxury homes in Gleann Mor House, with an abundance of bay windows, turrets and a raft of unique features, will offer something new in the Inverness market and will complement the modern, spacious family homes we are building elsewhere on the site.

“We expect significant demand, particularly as we near completion of the West Link Road, dramatically improving road connectivity to the area.”

Should the restoration win the backing of planners it could complete next year.

This looks quite nice. But I'll reserve judgement till I'll see aw the drawins becoz it widnae surprise me tae find a constructivist gless box attached somewhere just so that it's "unapologetically modern" an aw that jazz.

Glad to see some work being done on this building. Its fire damaged carcass has been left for too long.
Also happy to see that they have decided to keep in line with the original aesthetics of the building.
Will be nice to watch the progress of this project as it takes shape.
