Urban Splash officially announced for Irvine Bay project

The Irvine Bay Regeneration Company has officially announced Urban Splash as its preferred partner to deliver the £70 million Irvine Bay development.

The announcement was made at the international property expo MIPIM in Cannes, France as part of Scotland's showcase of investment opportunities for property developers.

Urban Splash was on the shortlist along with Banks Development, Miller Homes and Dawn for the 11 acre harbourside site of the former Scottish New Town.

The mixed use scheme will mean the construction of 300 homes as well as shops, leisure facilities and commercial workspaces, and is expected to create 100 construction jobs and 160 permanent and part time positions on completion.

Tom Bloxham, chairman of Urban Splash, said: "Urban Splash is very excited to have been selected as Irvine Bay's development partner for the delivery of Irvine Harbourside.

"We think the site has amazing potential given its location on the harbourside" continued Bloxham. "We think by focusing on quality architecture creating a strong sense of place by working in partnership with Irvine Bay and North Ayrshire Council, we can deliver a mixed-use scheme that will help transform Irvine into a great place where people will want to live and work."
