£32.5m Marr College reaches financial close
Hub South West has reached financial close on the £32.5m Marr College project which will see the B-listed Troon School upgraded and extended with the addition of a new wing.

Built by Kier Construction this new wing will connect with the existing structure over three floors and will be joined by a separate sports pavilion which will be made available for out of hours community use.

Designed by BDP the college will be delivered in tandem with a new Ayr Academy with the existing school remaining open throughout the construction period.

Delivered in partnership with South Ayrshire Council the work will increase the school’s capacity to 1,360 pupils when it opens in July 2017.
The work is being funded as part of Schools for the Future

It is a truly depressing world when the commencement of a significant investment into the built environment is described as 'financial close'.
