Scottish entries shortlisted for Civic Trust Awards

A brace of Scottish projects have been shortlisted for the annual Civic Trust Awards.

These projects include:

New Canopy & HQ Extension for FETA, Forth Road Bridge
St Vincent Place, Silvermills, Edinburgh
The Scottish Storytelling Centre, Edinburgh
Upper Strand, Phase 1, Granton Waterfront, Edinburgh
New Arts Faculty Building for University St Andrews
Dysart Artworks and Town Trail, Fife
Castlemilk Stables Block, Glasgow
Hazelwood School, Glasgow
Friary Court, Glasgow
St. Aloysius Residence and Sprituality Centre, Glasgow
The Bridge Arts Centre, Easterhouse, Glasgow
The Saltire Centre, Glasgow
Pier Arts Centre, Stromness, Orkney

Philip Kolvin, who chairs the Civic Trust, said: “A record 400 entries, representing the best in new buildings, public spaces and renovations have been whittled down to a final shortlist by our national panel. We are delighted with the high standard reached in the diverse schemes that range from housing to new museums, and from industrial buildings and offices to public spaces such as parks and promenades.”

Thirty awards will be handed out at the ceremony in Newcastle Civic Centre on March 12.
