Pacific Quay Village Hotel opens its doors
Village Urban Resorts has thrown open the doors to a new 120-room hotel at Glasgow’s Pacific Quay, following on from the launch of a similar destination in Aberdeen.

Clad in blue tinted glass and black metal composite panels the Curious Architects designed block incorporates a ground floor terrace housing a coffee shop, pub, restaurant and reception facilities.

A 20m pool is located to the rear of the £20m development amidst a surface car park.

Village Urban Resorts recently completed a similar venture in Edinburgh.

Actually, the Edinburgh venture is now complete - the hotel opened earlier this year.

This article is incorrect- The Edinburgh Village Hotel has been open for sometime and The De Vere Group no longer own these hotels. The company is solely Village Urban Resorts now.

Is the architecture designed to purposefully reflect their clientele: PVC, black, shameful?

Nothing evokes village life like a black plastic box set back from a multi-lane high-way behind a defensive line of trees and fencing, surrounded by surface parking

What a wonderful architectural addition to our waterfront !!! Not.

Actually this hotel isn't right on the waterfront and looks a good sight better than the nearby, recently completed Premier Inn which is right on the waterfront and looks ghastly. I don't see what the fuss is about here.

Cheap. Ugly. Uninviting. Uninspired. Why would you book in to that? The hotel chain must be so proud of that shed. Another eyesore on our river. Tired of these low builds on the Clyde.

definitely a brand conflict with Dakota. I wonder if they were the slated tenants at the outset? I quite like the style, but not for this location.
Incidentally, how do you site a swimming pool 'amidst' a car park? it reminds me of University crits where people tried too hard with the words, and not hard enough with the drawings! (shamefully 'b#llshit often trumped design)
