Riverside campus reaches external completion
Work to deliver a Reiach & Hall and Michael Laird Architects designed riverside campus for the City of Glasgow College is entering its final phase with the external shell of the teaching block and adjacent student residences nearing completion.

When completed the College, along with its Cathedral Street campus, will be the largest in Europe with the riverside estate offering courses in specialist engineering, marine and nautical education.

Their design is intended to maximise learning space by arranging teaching facilities in a continuous ‘ribbon’ internally.

The riverside campus will be completed this August after which the existing college buildings will be demolished and landscaped by May 2016.

The second image looks a bit like the 1960s west wing of Fife House in Glenrothes! :-O
