GSoA appoints Gardiner & Theobald to oversee Mack rebuild
The Glasgow School of Art has named Gardiner & Theobald as project manager for the reconstruction of the Mackintosh building, damaged by fire in May of last year.

Acting as an interface between the school and the design team the role will involve day to day collaboration with the GSA’s senior project manager, Liz Davidson.

Davidson said: “I am very much looking forward to working with them to create a fully rounded and contributory team ethos on this exceptional project – which is going to require an exceptional team and equally exceptional creative effort.”

An architecture design team chosen from a shortlist comprising Avanti, John McAslan + Partners, LDN, Page\Park and Purcell will be appointed at the end of March.

G&T anyone? I guess they could potentially oversee a good 'mock'intosh scheme. But would it not be more accessible and usable to the youth of today if it was re-done in a more modern style with brick and concrete?
