Playing host to a green roof the ICA designed scheme will be faced in stone rain screen, render and metal cladding and will include a ground floor shop, café and restaurant the scheme is expected to complete by September 2016.
In their design statement ICA said: “It is considered that the proportion of a stacked three part horizontal sub-division lends itself well to the existing proportions of Haddington Place.
“The window format which connects to the existing Georgian facades is maintained along with the clear gap between the proposal and the Library.”
The vacant site previously played host to the John Adam designed Botanic Cottage, now being reconstructed within the Royal Botanic Gardens.
