Trump project moving forward despite A+DS criticism

September 12 2007

Aberdeenshire Council planners look likely to recommend the approval of Donald Trump’s multi-million pound proposed golf development despite recent criticism from Architecture and Design Scotland.

The architectural watchdog recently advised against the granting of planning permission for the proposals in their current state, however, of over 400 letters or representation received by planners, over 300 were in support of the plans, particularly the potential economic benefits of the scheme.

The controversial plans were amended following objections by Scottish Natural Heritage about the impact on the local environment.

Councillors on the Formantine Area Committee are to meet next week to consider the proposals further.
