Construction begins on latest Glasgow student build
Construction work has begun on the latest student residential scheme for Glasgow’s west end with the erection of a second tower crane at Downing Development’s 701 apartment scheme at Beith Street.

Designed by Falconer Chester Hall the project occupies the site of the former Partick railway station on the banks of the River Kelvin and will be finished predominantly in facing brickwork with natural stone employed for a feature corner elevation.

Rising to 10 storeys in height the £60m project will front a new riverside walkway which will ultimately stretch to Glasgow Harbour.
It is planned to complete the development in time for the 2015 academic year.
The project forms part of a wider master plan for the area
