Anchored by an 80,000sq/ft stainless steel clad Marks & Spencer store the 112,000sq/ft property will be located to the south of the existing retail park and is designed to form a new entrance feature for the motorway frontage.
Brian McQuade, Managing Director of Kier Construction's Scottish business, said: "Kier Construction is delighted to be working with British Land on this exciting extension to the Glasgow Fort. This continues the successful relationship we have with British Land in delivering retail parks throughout the UK."
A separate Planning Application Notice has also been submitted for the construction of a 600 space multi-storey car park.
Work is expected to complete by April 2015.
