Technip unveil £15m Aberdeen HQ
Technip Subsea, an oil exploration firm, has unveiled their new £15m headquarters building in the Westhill area of Aberdeen.

Designed by TCD Architects and delivered by Robertson Construction the 60,000sq/ft building is clad in polished black ceramic granite and incorporates its own restaurant, café and gym.

A range of Kingspan and Benchmark roofing and cladding products were specified to help deliver the modular build within a 12 month construction period.

Explaining this approach Steve Walker from TCD Architects said: “It means we can deliver wind and watertight buildings at an early stage. This, coupled with a modular building design, allows for a quick build period.”

Why on earth did someone decide it needed such a colossally bulky roofline? Chop off the thunderingly awful 'hat' and you'd be left with a reasonably elegant shiny box. On a godforsaken business park, doing absolutely nothing worthwhile urbanistically or culturally, mind, but a reasonably elegant shiny box nonetheless. And that's what Aberdeen likes, isn't it?

Not to be pedantic but Westhill is part of Aberdeenshire and not City.

Equally it can be found in the middle of an industrial estate. Was hardly ever going to be award worthy.
