September 10 201318 month build programme by contractor BAM.
Located in Stepps, a commuter town on the outskirts of Glasgow, the 6,400m2 building has been designed by Reiach & Hall with Turner & Townsend serving as project managers.
It houses 600 staff in total alongside control and data centres behind a deep set façade which reduces solar gain whilst also permitting daylight penetration.
A simple palette of blonde brick and glazing is enriched through use of cast stone string courses and bronze anodised aluminium curtain walling.
Commenting on the project Turner & Townsend Associate Director, Jane Eckersall, said: “This has been a large-scale project for Scottish Water and it is rewarding to see it completed successfully. Turner & Townsend has a wealth of experience working with Scottish Infrastructure clients on projects, such as at Scottish Power’s Glasgow Headquarters, and it is wonderful to add this to our list of successes.”
