Irvine public realm works commence
First phase works have commenced on a £30m programme of public realm and streetscape improvements to the Bridgegate area of Irvine.

Valued at £2m the initial phase will take until Autumn 2013 to complete and includes improvements to both hard and soft landscaping, lighting and street furniture as well as a number of public art features.

Land Engineering has been appointed as contractor for this work, which was designed by Austin-Smith:Lord.

Councillor Marie Burns, spokesperson for Economic Development and Regeneration, said: "The people of Irvine are now beginning to see the plans become a reality, with the beginning of this ambitious work in Bridgegate itself following the start of refurbishment at Bridgegate House.”
