Incoming BDP chairman outlines global ambition
Incoming BDP chairman David Cash has vowed to transform the architectural practice from a UK based firm into a “world-based organisation” as part of a wider management reshuffle.

Cash, who has been instrumental in creating studios in India, China and the UAE, has been responsible for the firms international expansion 2008 when he became director for international development.

Speaking of his promotion Cash said: “As a company we always need to be improving and evolving in these changing times, rather than be afraid of change we need to embrace it.

"If I can take BDP from being a UK-based company that does projects overseas to a world-based organisation, I would feel like I had made my mark."

Amongst a raft of other appointments architect Scott Mackenzie, based in the practices Glasgow studio, has been appointed head of education.

Mackenzie is currently working on Inverness and Kilmarnock colleges as well as Strathclyde’s Technology Innovation Centre and Robert Gordon’s Garthdee Campus.

Cash will replace outgoing chairman Tony McGuirk on July 1.
