GHA submit Carnwadric housing plans
Glasgow Housing Association has submitted plans drawn up by Cooper Cromar Architects for the redevelopment of the former Carnwadric Primary School site for social housing.

The £4.2m development will comprise 45 new homes in a mixture of flatted accommodation, semi-detached and terraced housing the scheme will incorporate a shared surface central roadway and active gables to provide passive surveillance.

The scheme is split into two distinct elements with low density housing fronting the existing Kiloran Street, broken by a ‘feature gateway’ around a new access road which leads to flatted accommodation to the rear.

This will contain its own parking court contained within the boundary wall of the old school.

A plot of land to the immediate north will be given over to a community garden.
A red brick primary school has been demolished to make way for the plans

Sometimes I wish the architects would publish a copy of their own images.
To often UR use over saturated or pixelated scans that they have sourced themselves.
On an aside; do Cooper Cromar have a retainer with UR? Either there is no one else designing/building anything at the moment or, like Rangers and STV, they seemed to have their very own publicity machine.

Agree with #1 - the image quality is terrible in these renders as is too often the case on UR. Though it may just be a case of bad Photoshopping - the image of the couple apparently sinking into the quicksand paving is quite amusing.

And yeah, what is it with Cooper Cromar at the moment - is no-one else still standing?

Like buses!

We use the best quality images available. There can often be a delay in sourcing hi resolution images for stories that haven't been pushed out directly by the practice.

Im worried about the quicksand blue monoblock, seems like the permeable paving may be a wee bit too permeable :) I also join the call for a higher standard of renders and images...I feel our uni tutors may have had a canary if we pinned this quality up on the wall. *sigh* @ sketchuppery :)
