Strathclyde biomedical research lab officially opened
Strathclyde University have officially opened a £36m research laboratory in Glasgow designed by Sheppard Robson architects in conjunction with structural engineers Buro Happold.

Dedicated to developing new medicines the centre will bring together specialists in the fields of chemistry, biology and pharmacy to develop new treatments for global killers such as malaria and TB.

Opened by health secretary Nicola Sturgeon the centre offers 8,000sq/m of “clean suite” laboratory and office space for handling and packaging drugs.

The Centre is located on Cathedral Street, home to a planned new “super campus” of merged further education colleges being designed by Atkins.
