Dunard Design submit Glasgow hotel plans

The non descript block on harbours an exotic secret past as a former Moorish themed 1913 cinema. Sadly this original flamboyance has been steadily stripped from the building such that now only a couple of arches and a portion of barrel vaulted ceiling remain.
These details will be retained in an extensive overhaul of the property which will see the property refaced in render, metal panels & juliet balconies, the latter of which has been criticised by the Glasgow Building Preservation Trust for being out of keeping.

The architects and client should be ashamed of themselves if this is the best visualisation they could produce of the scheme.
It speaks volumes that this is situated not far from me (i inhabit the top floor of the School of Art building since my passing) yet i have no idea, given no clue as to where it actually is due to the poor, poor visual.
Architects despair indeed. This will no doubt sail through the planning process.

Mark my words and watch this space they will be building this before you can say ..... ' surely the planners haven't ... oh no wait .... they have ' ... makes and absolute mockery - a real shame that Glasgow has to adopt the kak

About time someone developed this eye sore in Glasgow, a vast improvement on whats there, hope the planners support it ! I believe the building is listed?

these unjust criticisms to the development, potentially a great improvement to the urban fabric of Glasgow's heart in the midst of a recession give rise to much sadness, if you must criticize, positive criticism would be the way forward rather than negative response to a developer some have taken. If you do not like urban intervention, move elsewhere!!

I can't make much out from the graphic - this is a prime example of when bad CG is bad for a project. Because there is so little detail, the viewer is going to fill in the blanks and in this case in a more scathing way.

The buildings being refurbished are currently occupied by Victorias Nightclub and perviously Rooftops nightclub, the plan is to turn both buildings into a boutique hotel

Insurance Job fire complete, stage one over.
