Architect Dennis Sharp loses lung cancer battle
Dennis Sharp, founder of Dennis Sharp Architects in 1965 and known as an authoritative writer, penning several titles on architecture to come to international attention, has died aged 76 following a two-year battle with lung cancer.

An architect to the last Sharp was working on a Miesian swimming pool house that reflected his modern movement style as well as his work on historic buildings.

Sharp recently served on the judging panel for the 2009 Scottish Design Awards and is warmly remembered for his wit and insight.

A celebration of his life is planned for the summer.
