Scottish Government raises building standards

The Building Standards Technical Handbook stipulates that from that date new buildings must reduce emissions by 30% on 2007 levels.
Improved insulation is also specified for party walls and floors to reduce noise pollution, schools will also be required to install sprinklers.
Infrastructure Minister Stewart Stevenson said: “These improvements will give us some of the greenest homes in Europe.”
