The Henry Duncan Building, designed by BDP architects, has officially opened to staff and students at Dumfries and Galloway College campus.

Also playing host to the Universities of Glasgow, Paisley and Bell College, Crichton Campus is Scotland’s first multi-institutional campus providing a reading room and research centre alongside teaching and social areas for member institutions.

In order to mimic the Locharbriggs sandstone used on surrounding buildings a glass reinforced concrete cladding system was specified by architects BDP from Cladding Solutions. These panels created a watertight envelope around the £25m campus.

As part of a commitment to sustainability the building features natural ventilation, reducing both carbon emissions and energy costs.
