And then their were seven…
A long list of 153 hopefuls in the competition to design an 11,250 square metre building for the Glasgow School of Art has been whittled down to a mere seven.

In alphabetical order the lucky contenders are: Benson & Forsyth, Elder & Cannon, Francisco Mangado Architects, Grafton Architects, Hopkinsm, John McAslan & Partners with Nord and Steven Holl Architects with JM Architects.

The shortlisted parties will now develop their thinking for a submission in late July 2009 with the winning architect team being announced in September.

Phase one of the campus redevelopment is scheduled to open in 2013.
