HLM Architects climb Sunday Times poll
HLM Architects, one of the largest practices in Scotland, is the top place to work in architecture and construction, according to a Sunday Times poll: The Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work for 2009.

The practice, which has an office in Glasgow, sealed its status with aplomb having climbed no less than 25 places since last year to secure 37th slot and also scooped one of seven Special Awards, ‘Best for engaging with schools’, for its work in the education sector.

Judges were full of praise for the HLM team saying: “HLM Architects aim to design places where we all can “live, work and play to our full potential”, and the company itself is a perfect model of this goal.  Stafffeel the training is of great benefit to them personally, say they aren’t spending too much time at work and are happy with the balance of work and home life.

HLM are the only architect to feature on the list from the 565 companies who agreed to take part, results are compiled on the basis of staff feedback.
