INTROSPECT

McColl Architects was briefed by urbanwear retailer Attic Clothing to create a flagship store from a series of components that could also be adapted for future expansion to other sites, bringing together the various sales areas with a unifying element. McColl applied a Jenga-inspired, solid ash wall finish to the bare walls creating a contrast of textures. The chunky wooden wall coverings were coupled with a lime green colour throughout, in the furniture and in the lighting conduit grid overhead. The practice also designed a series of display stands from ash plywood, taking an asymmetrical A for Attic shape. Photography by Keith Hunter.
