Sustrans is the charity making it easier for people to walk and cycle. We connect people and places, create liveable neighbourhoods, transform the school run and deliver a happier, healthier commute. Sustrans Scotland is seeking to recruit a number of people with a passion for place and urban design to join our Infrastructure Delivery team.

£21,965 - £23,964 per annum
(dependent on relevant skills and experience)
37.5 hours per week (job share may be available)
based in Edinburgh or Inverness – with possible opportunities to work from Glasgow or Stirling

We are seeking candidates from a range of backgrounds including urban design, landscape architecture, planning, civil engineering, community engagement and behaviour change, amongst others.  As part of the team, you will contribute to the delivery of high quality urban realm projects with a focus on people and place across Scotland.

Both Community Links PLUS and Community Links teams create and enhance walking and cycling links across Scotland to help meet the Scottish Government’s vision of 10% of journeys by bike, outlined in the Cycling Action Plan for Scotland.

Community Links PLUS is a collaborative design competition for local authorities and other statutory bodies to conceptualise, design and deliver high profile inspirational places for people incorporating exemplar walking and cycling infrastructure.  Since the first competition in 2015/16, six Community Links PLUS projects have been awarded funding in excess of £25 million.

Community Links oversees the delivery of Scottish Government grant funding to Scottish local authorities, statutory bodies, community groups and educational institutions for the creation of cycling and walking infrastructure for everyday journeys.  To date, it has awarded almost £80 million to more than 1000 projects.
