Last orders called for Davidson’s Mains pub to homes conversion
McLaren Murdoch & Hamilton architects have called last orders on an Edinburgh pub with plans to convert the premises for residential occupation and erect a new build extension.

This will see the former MacKenzie’s pub at Davidson’s Mains converted to form seven flats, three within the pub itself and four within a new build extension to the rear.

In a planning statement Scott Hobbs planning wrote: “Existing buildings to the immediate rear of the pub will be demolished and the area set aside for parking and landscaping.

“The character and appearance of the area will be enhanced and the levels of amenity to existing residential properties surrounding the site will be improved.”

Designed to minimise overlooking and maximise privacy the new extension will sit within a shared garden area and will be finished in facing brick and render, broken by a metal cladding system.
