Kilmarnock turns over a new page with £45m William McllVanney Campus

Designed by Norr the new school amalgamates Kilmarnock and James Hamilton Academies which will operate as one secondary school on the site of the latter, alongside a new primary drawn from pupils of the former Silverwood and New Farm primaries.
An early childhood centre will also be offered together with a third new school specialising in Gaelic language education, with each element housed behind its own deeply modelled brick pavilion.
Attention will now turn to the demolition of the old school building and associated external works overseen by RankinFraser. Completion of this second phase of activity is expected by 2019.
A shared social space forms the heart of the new school
The campus will cater for a combined 1,928 pupils

Well done Norr! As someone who went to school in Kilmarnock it is nice to see some investment being made in the town and what looks to be of a good quality too.

Externals look not bad, (with the exception of that white render wall thingy)
Im always suspicious of when they don’t actually show proper pictures of the internals
The stairs picture looks a bit like the inside of my local ASDA
And if it wasn’t for the writing on the walls the seats could be in that Subway Sandwich Shop
Other than that its great

Hi, #2, the white render wall thingy is just temporary hoarding to delineate the demolition phase works

Inside out the the white render thingy is a timber painted hoarding separating the public from the demolition elements. The pictures are real proper pictures of a small area of a much larger project. Always difficult to highlight the scale of the project with limited space especially on a complex project that is nearly 2Ksqm in size.
