Springburn Park Winter Gardens Trust are inviting architects to come forward to help it develop objectives and feasibility studies for the decaying Victorian landmark in North Glasgow.

In recent months the 116-year old steel frame has been stabilized, guaranteeing the structural integrity of what remains before plans for a full restoration are enacted.

In a statement the group wrote: “Our ambitious plans to save and repurpose these iconic A-listed Winter Gardens are progressing. We are now seeking an architect to take designs to RIBA Stage 1 alongside heritage interpretation expertise.”

This follows an earlier ideas contest designed to seek ways of bringing the A-listed winter gardens back into sustainable use with suggested designs including a garden maze and a moveable ‘memory box’ arranged on its own customised tracks.
