Bishopbriggs sports hub hits the ground running
Atkins have handed over a brand-new sports hub in Bishopbriggs on behalf of East Dunbartonshire Council, drawing together a full-size floodlit football pitch, astroturf and grass pitches alongside an athletics track and three floodlit tennis courts.

Huntershill Sports Hub is operated by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC Trust) with the aim of boosting sports participation, physical activity and more active lifestyles.

A pavilion structure plays host to a range of associated facilities including a changing rooms, an office, meeting rooms and a multi-purpose hall with areas of accent colour used to contrast with the dark materials palette and bespoke joinery.

From the outside the pavilion is faced in blue facing brick and deep set vertical windows which sit below a precast concrete string course.

Sandy Marshall, chair of EDLC Trust, commented: “This is a fabulous new facility and the culmination of a great deal of hard work by the Council, Trust and partners. I am delighted to see that Huntershill is already proving popular and have no doubt it will continue to go from strength to strength.”
