Kelso High School welcomes first pupils
Completion of Kelso High School has been marked at a formal handover ceremony following the arrival of pupils within the £22.5m facility.

A direct replacement for the historic Kelso High the new school boasts a wealth of sports facilities including 3G sports and 2G hockey pitches as well as an athletics track, long jump pit and netball court.

Landscaped grounds also offer an ‘eco-garden pond’, orchard, allotment, outdoor classroom and an arts and craft space with pupils also benefitting from an on-site gym and library.

Councillor Carol Hamilton said: “The new high school will transform education in Kelso and will provide much improved facilities not only for pupils but importantly for the whole community.

“The previous high school had served the town well since 1939 but there is no doubt the new facility will provide additional benefits.”

Delivered in partnership between the council, Cooper Cromar, Morrison Construction and Hub South East Scotland the school is the latest to be delivered for the authority after it took possession of new primaries at Langlee and Duns.

The kids with hangovers are going to have an absolute "mare" in those toilets.

Business Park "architecture" at best (CC influence?), but at least it doesn't look like a factory....? Clearly schools reached their zenith last year and they are now on their way back down.
