Barratt Homes push Renfrew riverside residential
Barratt Homes is pushing its latest development at Renfrew riverside with the announcement of a further wave of apartments and townhouses on the waterfront site.

Located within walking distance of Braehead shopping centre and overlooking the River Clyde the development with the first homes expected to be ready for people to move in by summer 2018.

Estelle Sykes, sales director, Barratt West Scotland said, “These new homes will be particularly appealing to potential buyers who want to be near to Glasgow but not immersed in the city centre.

“Buying new removes the inevitable bidding process and therefore the uncertainty of buying a new home – there are no upfront maintenance costs or renovation costs and you choose your own brand-new kitchen, bathroom and tiling which are all installed ready for your move in date.”

Drawn up by Halliday Fraser Munro the plans call for a range of blocks finished in red/light grey brick and dark grey rainscreen paneling.

It's such a comfort knowing that architectural excellence and the creation of homes which make you feel good are in such hands

I don't mind the form so much but the red brick and the atrocious landscaping and dominant parking make it look like a Travelodge on a business park. Fine if you're paying £45 for the night, but to spend hundreds of thousands and live there for years? Grim.

And one lucky resident gets a balcony. They'll be the envy of the estate.

I really like Ferry Village, but this is a poor addition that won't age well. Barratt's recent development across the road was considerably better than this, yet still far from great.

Have to echo everyone else - this is dire to look at and to expect someome to live in. Who wants to look out onto a car park from their sitting room window? In winter you will have headlights beaming right in. In summer where will the residents sit to get some sun - buy a convertible and push the TV to the window?
