Aberdeen takes ownership of next generation council homes
Aberdeen has seen the largest council housing development in over a decade complete on the site of the former Smithfield Primary School in Middlefield.

The first phase of 12 semi-detached homes take advantage of Aberdeen City Council's Combined Heat and Power Scheme which recycles energy from waste.

Built by Lippe Architects and CHAP Construction the properties the scheme is expected to complete next year, when a further 87 properties ranging from one-bed flats through to four-bedroom homes are delivered.

This latter phase will also include a footpath, integrating the development within the existing community.

Built using fire resistant Econic boards the timber frame properties will be managed by Chap on behalf of Aberdeen City Council.
