Indicative National Marine Centre plans published
The Scottish Seabird Centre has showcased indicative plans to create a £5.5m marine centre in East Lothian, designed to further the charity’s work in marine conservation and education.

Simpson & Brown Architects and exhibition designers Event Communications have been appointed to lead the design of The National Marine Centre through creative adaption of existing buildings.

This will allow formation of new interactive exhibitions, retail and café facilities to augment the charities income. A 360-degree observatory offering panoramic vista’s of the North Berwick coastline will also be built.

Professor Baxter, principal advisor – marine, at Scottish Natural Heritage, commented: “This new attraction will provide an immersive and interactive experience, communicating the latest research and inspiring people to look after our natural world.”

The new marine centre is expected to become operational in 2020.
