Anderson Bell + Christie advance 48 homes in north Glasgow
Anderson Bell + Christie and McTaggart Construction have prepared plans for 48 homes for social rent on behalf of Hawthorn Housing Co-operative at a former ironworks on Ashfield Street, north Glasgow.

Forming and ‘urban block‘ the development is accessed by a shared surface road, car parking and private gardens the scheme will zone particual needs husing and one-bedroom apartments to the north.

In a statement the architect wrote: “By creating a flatted block and concentrating the single bedroom dwellings to the North edge of the site, the opportunity to provide a harder edge to the busiest edge of the site was realised.

“By arranging the units in semi-detached and short terraces it was also possible to ensure that all unit’s rear gardens were accessible by paths of an appropriate gradient despite the challenging topography.“

This article has been here for 5 days, yet no comments on this social housing design? Surely the same comments apply to this as before right... "it's 1982" "perfunctory" "lacklustre" please discuss....
