Forth Valley College are pressing ahead with an £83m campus in Falkirk after the Scottish government gave the procurement process the green light, enabling a start on site to be made by September 2017 for completion by October 2019.

Located at the college’s former Middlefield campus the development will include a range of workshops, laboratories and classrooms, designed to a similar specification to recently completed facilities by the college in Alloa and Stirling.

In their design statement Reiach & Hall said: “By utilising a similarly restrained palette of materials both campus buildings at Alloa and Stirling have a distinctly different ‘feel’, however they are also clearly from the same family. In keeping with the previous campus buildings, it is intended that the new Falkirk campus should benefit from the themes already developed, namely by creating a building predominantly made of a high quality facing brick.”

Aiming for at least a BREEAM very good rating the campus will offer a Learning Resource Centre, cafes, beauty salons, conference rooms and sports facilities.
