This will see the existing structure retained and extended whilst minimising impact on neighbouring homes, re-using as much of the existing building as possible.
In a design statement the architects observed: “The existing external walls are to be retained, allowing the existing coursed granite elevational treatment to be retained. Second floor accommodation is to be formed by re-profiling the existing north and south gables to accommodate a new pitched slate roof.
Clad in zinc sheets, render and retained course granite and a mature tree to the south elevation will be retained ‘if possible’.
