Hoskins Architects release Scottish National Gallery fly-through

A fly-through video gives an idea of what form new gallery spaces will take, both inside and out, as part of the £16.8m Celebrating Scotland’s Art project to triple floor space at the Edinburgh cultural attraction from 440sq/m to 1,320sq/m.
In a statement the architects wrote: “There will be a suite of new rooms which, for the first time, will be directly accessible from East Princes St Gardens. These will be enhanced by natural light, and will also offer stunning views into the Gardens and the city beyond. Sympathetic landscaping will integrate the Scottish National Gallery with the Gardens, significantly enhancing this important part of Edinburgh’s World Heritage Site. The terrace outside will be substantially expanded and a new pathway created.”
Construction work will get underway next spring and will open to the public in early 2019.

Please could a water feature be included in the new landscaping to add more life to the gardens? Edinburgh hardly has any fountains.

Looks promising. Also agree with Ed that we could do with some nice water features, in this case something classical to go with the architecture. But Glasgow, for example, would also benefit from some nice fountains in prominent areas.
