West Lothian steading development secures development award

Stewart Milne Homes received the title for Devon Lane, a commuter belt development which combines fast connections to Edinburgh with a bucolic location.
Lorraine Paterson, sales and marketing director of Stewart Milne Homes told Urban Realm: “Stewart Milne Homes’ team of award-winning architects created design schemes specifically for the development, which built on the local heritage of the area and the unique rural setting and took inspiration from the local area when considering the use of materials.
“Buyers are looking for high quality designed homes which cater to 21st century living and Stewart Milne Homes prides itself on achieving the perfect balance of elegance and practicality to meet their needs and aspirations.”
Designed in-house the scheme included conversion of historic stone steadings to form three modern homes and overlooks Devon Pond, which has been landscaped to provide a scenic backdrop to the development.
All 35 homes on the estate have now sold out

They look lovely. Hate the now longstanding trend for new builds to be crammed next to each other though...nae privacy out the back for yer parties n aw that

Hmmm, don't see anything here to get overly excited about - typical housebuilder house types in a typical housebuilder layout with a random smattering of different materials.
Oh, and have a look at the "Glen" house type - I'm all for open plan living, but it only works when it's reasonably generous, not when you squeeze the kitchen dining and living area of a 3 bed house into a poky wee room.
Polishing it may be out of the question, but rolling it in glitter doesn't do it either.

i don't see how this has anything to do with a Steading. Its just a housing estate.
