Norr Architects and Caledonian MacBrayne, the publicly owned ferry company, have marked one year to go toward delivery of a redeveloped Brodick Ferry Terminal with the official launch of a new bus terminus following a delay.

Located at Brodick Harbour on the Isle of Arran the £22.2m terminal is scheduled to open by August 2017 and is intended to enhance travel between the mainland and will include a new pier and parking in addition to the transport interchange.

This will facilitate the arrival of a new class of 100m long vessels to be introduced by Spring 2018, each of which will be capable of carrying up to 1,000 passengers and 16 HGVs or 127 cars.

Opening of the new interchange will allow contractors to demolish existing stances and press ahead with the next stage of the terminus overhaul.
