4,620 homes earmarked for Angus by 2026
Angus council have given their consent to an ambitious housebuilding programme in the region which could deliver as many as 4,620 homes by 2026.

Development sites have been identified for hundreds of homes in Carnoustie, Turfbeg and Forfar by the Angus Local Development Plan with brownfield land classed as a priority; specifically Sunnyside Hospital, Hillside; Ashludie Hospital, Monifeith and Crudie Farm, Arbroath.

At least a quarter homes in developments of 10 houses and more will be classified as affordable.

Commercial land has also been identified for development at Montrose Airfield as well as an expansion of Brechin Business Park and Muirhead Industrial Estate, Arbroath.

Scottish government ministers will now consider the plans before they can be given the final green light.

If they mostly stick to that type of design it should be good going. You want to break it up a bit with something a bit more modern but with the same overall style/period in mind. A modern take on it or something.
Looks like, maybe, those white houses might be what I mean; they look good if that's the case.

Don't make me laugh - Angus is the worst area in Scotland to try and develop housing. Unless you want to build out one of the 'allocated' sites, or are one of the 'favoured' developers (a fact upheld by the Scottish Government), then you don't stand a chance.
The Angus planners would rather see good sites fall into disrepair and eyesore than relax their ridiculous 'guidance'.

@#2 - like it or not we have a plan led system in Scotland. Sites are allocated for good reason in the LDP and if its not then you will have a harder time getting permission. The Planning Review will only strengthen this position.

Mike, you would think that's the way it should work but when Angus Council won't support a 4-house brownfield site on the edge of a town centre because "it doesn't make a significant enough contribution to local regeneration" or won't support the re-hab of a derelict house because of it's proximity to a football park, but will support the building of hundreds of new houses on greenfield land, because the site has been allocated, you can see the way things are going. And with the current crop of numpties in charge, it ain't pretty.
