Stoneywood villa earns MAC Architects an interior design award
MAC Architects have picked up an award for best interior home improvement for the design of Westwood Villa, Aberdeen, at the annual North-east Trades Awards – just three months after picking up a supreme award from the Aberdeen Society of Architects.

The Stoneywood property was designed using 3D BIM software to maximise glazing within a super insulated timber envelope which achieves a SAP ‘A’ rating.

Jonathan Cheyne, director at MAC Architects said: “We’re very excited to have gained such fantastic recognition of our work at Westwood Villa, a project we will always be very proud of. We are strong advocates of sustainability and are constantly looking for innovative ways to make our buildings more energy efficient.

“Westwood Villa allowed us to unleash all our creativity and design and deliver something very special and totally unique.

“We remain one of only a handful of practices in Scotland to have 3D BIM software integrated at the core of our business.”

The award for best exterior home improvement went to Papillon Design & Landscaping.

Many congratulations to Jonathan and Blair. Great to see two young architects emerge from larger practices and go on to succeed.
