Satellite Beatson Radiotherapy Centre opens doors at Monklands Hospital
A satellite radiotherapy treatment centre for the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Care Centre in Gartnavel, Glasgow, has opened its doors within the grounds of Monklands Hospital, Airdrie.

Built to provide additional treatment facilities for patients in the Lanarkshire area the new centre bristles with cutting edge technology including three linear accelerator treatment rooms.

Designed by Keppie the centre will be built around a central courtyard garden and follows on from the success of  Reiach & Hall’s Maggie’s Cancer care centre.

Peter Moran, Keppie’s managing director said: “We’re delighted to see the centre open and treating patients. It was an extremely rewarding project for us to have worked on and its very gratifying to see how well-received the centre has been by those requiring treatment, their families and the staff who work there.”

Pretty slick interior ... good to see even Keppie struggle with 'ol courtyard conundrum ... what to put in it? A hump-backed bridge .... Odd
