Glasgow City Council has posted an advert in the architectural trade press inviting companies from the construction, house building and funding sectors to attend an information session on the delivery and development of the Games Village for the 2014 Commonwealth Games ahead of the commencement of the formal procurement process.

According to the advert, interested parties from relevant industry sectors are invited to register for this event, to be held on Wednesday 2 April 2008, in Central Glasgow by emailing gamesvillage@drs.glasgow.gov.uk by Friday 28 March 2008.

The Games Village, to be built in the east end of the city, will house 6,000 athletes and officials during the Games and provide a permanent legacy of housing for both sale and rent, and will “set new standards of design and sustainable development and build on Glasgow’s record of delivering successful urban regeneration.”
