East Calder Partnership Centre plans emerge
Collective Architecture have submitted plans to West Lothian Council for the East Calder Partnership Centre, a local hub for council public services including a library, education & resource centre and multi-purpose halls.

Designed to plug into a proposed ‘green link’ to the town centre the hub will sit off the Main Street which will be turned into a new shared space connecting playing fields in the east to the River Almond in the west.

Conceived as two distinct volumes arranged around a south facing entrance garden and play area with the library overlooking Main Street and the halls positioned opposite playing fields.

Faced with precast concrete panels pigmented in reference to the local stone the facility will feature areas of corten steel on the front façade with a grey, multi-facing brick used for north elevations.

A green roof has been specified to reinforce the ‘green link’ concept.
