Edinburgh’s Capital Square wins go-ahead
Planning permission has been granted for a 152,623 sq/ft office block and 233 space underground car park on Edinburgh’s James Morrison Street financed by Hermes Investment Management.

Capital Square will see public realm enhancements including a new walkway routed from Conference Square to Festival Square and an overhaul of Chuckie Pend to make it a level and well-lit route.

Hermes asset manager Ian Cody, Management, said:  “It is a crucial time in the Edinburgh property market with very little development currently underway despite a strong demand for new and high quality space.”

Designed by Hurd Rolland Partnership to attain a BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating the grade A office space will feature a private courtyard and full height atrium, opening onto a landscaped garden with roof terraces at higher level.
